Military civilizations are one of the three possible civilization types in Civilization Stage. You start with a military city upon exiting Tribal Stage as Aggressive. Rival military cities can spawn as either small or large cities and are generally the most powerful of the three.

Gaining The Military Trait
The Military trait is gained through military takeover of cities using military vehicles. Using certain consequence abilities like Mighty Bomb or Gadget Bomb also count.
In-game dialogue
The Military nations' unique voice is similar to that of a middle-aged adult male, sounding mostly like they are speaking English gibberish with an American accent. Colonies of player-controlled empires in the space stage can also have this voice.
